Hallways are transitional spaces. Frank Lloyd Wright stated that hallways were crucial to the arrival experience. Color palette and lighting need to provide an appealing passage to the surrounding rooms. A hallway can be creatively designed. Colors can differ from other design elements such as furniture, artwork and windows. Hallways are the appetizers to the meal, the precursors to the following rooms.
